If this festival has no fans it's because I'm dead. I raved about it last year, I will rave about it this year. Set in the gorgeous little town of Nelson, BC, KBF is a community driven event with a strong focus on building lasting connections with fellow performers. Being picked up from the airport by the wonderful Hella Sweets I also got to meet a festival newbie from NYC the wonderful Leona ferocious. We drove through the mountains to Nelson and it felt like coming home. V

I common tip I hear for performers is to have a clear understanding of the story you are telling. Calypso has always been one where I thought I knew what I was trying to say but it never quite connected.
